Day 5

Once again, as we just rolled in around 9:30 p.m., Ryan has asked that I be his Secretary to get his thoughts of the day down on the blog. Pictures will be coming later...
Today we went to the unknown soldier's tomb. We saw the changing of the guard. It was interesting because the guards did all kinds of moves with their guns.
Next we went to the Smithsonian and saw war weapon. The wars shown there were the Revolutionary, Civil War, World War I, II, Vietnam and Korean Wars. I saw a real chopper, grenade launchers, and movies about the war.
Then we went to Mount Vernon and saw how people made statues of General Washington and the colonial people.
At night, we went to the Lincoln memorial. It was made out of marble and the statue was made by some Italian brothers. Then we went to the Korean and Vietnam memorials. We saw statues of soldiers going through the rice fields.
My favourite part of the day was going into the Smithsonian.

Arlington Cemetary - the picture behind was quite moving.

In the Smithsonian - the Vietnam section...

Had to get a picture with the rocket-launcher...

In the slave's quarters at Mount Vernon...

Does he look like a Revolutionary?
I'm sure you have seen this guy before...
